We never thought we’d be saying this.. “We can now convert your current bike to an Electric Bike”

This is something we’re asked about quite frequently so have kept an eye on available eBike conversion options. Until now we have not had the confidence in what’s on the market because of lack of UK support, spares availability, performance, reliability, and the way they attach to and drive bikes. We have also had some horrendous and dangerous DIY converted bikes in the workshop which have made us realise that if we move in this direction we must choose a credible partner.

But we are now ready and have been working very closely with the Guys at Boost Bikes for the last 12 months, monitoring the development of their conversion system, and we are now very happy to have become one of their Specialist Test and Fitting Centres, the only one in Bedfordshire.

The Boost System replaces your rear wheel with a motorised one, the battery and controller attach to your water bottle mounts and the (optional) wireless display secures to your bars. There is also an iPhone and Android App that works in the same way as the display. Boost is suitable for most non-folding bikes with 26″, 27.5″, 28″, 29″ and 700c wheels, with single speed or 7-11 speed rear cogs (cassette)

You can buy the kit from us and fit it yourself but from our experience it is not as simple as it may seem as gears will need adjusting and brakes realigning.

We are offering a full end-to-end solution to our customers, taking all of the technical decision making away from you and giving you a personalised system, fully fitted and supported.

  • Step 1 – Inspect and assess the suitability of your current bike. This includes compatibility with the Boost Kit, suitability of tyres, brakes and gears to ensure your bike will perform safely with the extra weight and power.
  • Step 2 – Configure and order your Boost Kit with the correct wheel, either from stock or we can build a motor into your existing wheel.
  • Step 3 – Professionally fit and test your Boost Kit and provide full training on how to get the best out of it.

Pricing starts at £649 for a DIY install and around £100 more for a Dorvics Professional fitting.

You can read more about the Boost Conversion Kits here

We also have one in the shop for test rides and demonstrations so pop in for a chat, drop us a message or book an appointment for an assessment of your current bike here, https://dorvicsservice.as.me/boost

If you’re confident you know what you need you can or order through the Dorvics Website, but don’t worry, we will call to check everything is ok before we secure the stock.
