Well we didn’t actually go anywhere but during our busiest summer yet we have had to lay low on Social Media as we’ve just been too busy keeping people cycling.

Team Dorvics would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal and patient customers during what is always our busiest time of the year getting bikes ready for your holidays and the summer sunshine. During the last 3 months we have succeeded in;

  • Completing 182 Service Bookings
  • Fixing 212 punctures
  • Selling 19 eBikes to newly converted cyclists
  • Converting 18 bikes to eBikes using the superb Boost conversion kits
  • Selling 37 traditional bikes from our extensive range of Raleigh and Coyote bikes

Our Team has grown too with Ashley now ‘retiring’ from the executive corporate world into a full time role supporting and growing the business – “I’ve never worked harder and enjoyed my work more” he says! Joe has moved back into the corporate world after a few great years supporting the business (but he’s still around!). Luis has been instrumental to the success of Dorvics over the past 5 years, starting as the Apprentice and Saturday Boy and now, during his University ‘holiday’, has been using the skills and knowledge learned to help the workshop run smoothly. We have now been joined by Chris, an ex-London Cargo Courier and mechanic at Brick Lane Bikes, lover of BMX and general nice chatty Guy. Kyle, an ex-Miltary Engineer (he used to fix Apache helicopters!) has now joined us and will be completing his Cytech Level 3 course in the next month, adding to the diverse and extensive knowledge and skills of the team. We also have a new Saturday Boy, Jake, another BMX fan and trick mountain bike stunt man (he falls off a lot!). Jake is learning fast and we’re sure will follow in the footsteps of Luis.

We now move into the next busy week, driven by kids going back to school and needing their bikes made safe after a summer bashing around the streets, and commuters remembering that their tyres are flat and chain a bit rusty but need to get back to work on their bikes next week.

Our opening hours will change next week (post to follow) to reflect the historic needs of our customers and lack of daylight and we will then move on to our new and exciting development plan – yes, there are many exciting changes ahead that will take Dorvics to the next level – watch this space!

Meanwhile, you know where we are and how we can help, please continue to support your local business and High Street, buying bikes on the internet or from inexperienced shops is cheaper in the short term but from the many requests we get to help out with problem bikes bought elsewhere, we can see the downsides, especially if you have to send your heavy eBike back!

Watch out for more exciting news now that we’re back by following us on Facebook and Instagram

Happy Winter Cycling!
